Boarding Pass

           Boarding Pass

The one thing you never want to see on your boarding pass  “My Personal Story”

WHILE planning a recent trip to Costa Rica from Florida, with Spirit Airlines I purchased my ticket online like always as I go there with the same airlines every 6 months. When it became 24 hours before I was departing from the Tampa, Florida International Airport (TPA) I went online and printed out my boarding pass to save the $10.00 fee Spirit charges if you make them print it out at the counter. So, all was good all the way through to San Jose, Costa Rica and all security points and long lines of course, but my arrival went without a problem.
My Return Trip: When it became 24 hours before my departure from San Jose , Costa Rica Airport (SJO) I went to too the computer in the Taormina Hotel & Casino there in San Jose and went online to print out my Boarding Pass and it would not let me print it out.
The message said….”UNFORTUNATELY” the magic of the internet won’t let us see your actual passport – please visit a kiosk or come to the ticket counter where we will print out your boarding pass for you at no charge. I could not believe this so I printed it out again and the same message came out. The thing is my traveling partner did the same routine and he received his boarding pass just fine.

OK, now at the ticket counter I showed my passport and they printed out my Boarding Pass and gave it to me without blinking an eye because I was looking for that certain look on the counter agent’s face when a red flag goes up or something is wrong. Well, she didn’t blink an eye so then I calmly asked her what is the problem why I could not print out my Boarding Pass and she just said it’s because, and she pointed it out, that you have these four “SSSS” on your Boarding Pass, but I do not know why it happens. So, still confused and wondering if I am even going to get on my flight. On my way through all security check points I ask the same question…Why are these “SSSS” on my boarding Pass and not my traveling partners Boarding Pass. Now I am in the boarding area waiting to board the plane with my friend and my name comes out over the loud speaker to report to the Security Checkpoint by the check-in counter there. Well, Now I am very upset and my heart is beating very fast wondering…this is it. The day I pray for forgiveness. Well they proceeded  to check all my luggage very carefully and an extra special frisking of my body and everything I was wearing. Then they told me I was going to the front of the live and to stand and wait over there in the hallway to the plane and all the time I was asking the same question. Why is this happening to me and what does the “SSSS” mean. No one ever told me even when I came through the security checkpoints at my home Airport in Tampa, Florida.
